Bi-sectional — the Best of Both WorldsJune 11th, 2010When shopping for a new sofa, one has to consider many points. What size would work best? Do I have color/fabric preferences? Should I get a standard sofa or a sectional? Sectionals are wonderful for many reasons, but they can limit the way a room is arranged. That is, until now! Gus has two “Bi-sectional” styles that can be transformed from right-facing to left in a matter of seconds! The Jane Bi-sectional (above) and Richmond Bi-sectional both have reversible cushions and a movable ottoman that allow them to transform for your every need. Now that’s what we call design that works! Hong Kong is the most densely populated city in the world. Because of this, living spaces are small and expensive. In this video, architect Gary Chang takes us on a tour of his “Domestic Transformer”, a 344 sq. ft. Hong Kong apartment that is able to change into 24 different designs using sliding panels, walls and appliances. It’s so refreshing to see someone rise to the occasion when presented with a design challenge. Impressive! Cute x Ridiculous to the Infinite PowerApril 9th, 2010It probably goes without saying that I’m a fan of modern design. But you may not know that I am also enamored with all things miniature (and have an entire collection of miniature food items to prove it). So, when I came across Call of the Small, I pretty much peed my pants. Twice. Created by Christine Ferrara, a 39-year-old mother of three in New Jersey, the blog showcases creations born from her love of architecture, design and small scale objects. REALLY? Could. You. Get. Any. CUTER? I think I could be her BFF. Um, MINIATURE miniatures? I think my brain just melted. While I don’t see myself suddenly having the time or dedication to take up this amazing hobby, I will be sure to admire Ms. Ferrara’s creations from afar. Enjoy! |
