Description

In 1950 Charles and Ray Eames designed a system of modular storage cabinets that made no apology for or any attempt to soften their industrial attributes. Constructed of plywood, lacquered Masonite, and plated-steel framing, these units were designed in an effort to produce economical household and office furniture using industrial production techniques.

Charles and Ray Eames's uncompromisingly progressive design was lauded by designers and architects of the time but not readily embraced by a post-war general public. Herman Miller manufactured and marketed the Eames Storage Units (ESU) in 1950 and soon ended their production in 1955.

Modernica has been building Case Study Units since 1987. Being at the forefront of rediscovering and re-launching iconoclastic designs, such as the Eames Storage Units, Modernica strictly adheres to the original design in regards to dimensions, frame construction and materials.

The CS 220 Unit includes perforated metal, taupe, and white rear panels, three fiberglass side panels, as well as a set of embossed dimple doors.

If you would like a different color for each side panel, just let us know what and where in the comments box.
